Right to self-determination only solution to Kashmir dispute: APHC
Aug 23rd, 2016 | Category: Kashmir NewsIn occupied Kashmir, APHC Chairman Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyet leaders have rejected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertions in which he called for dialogue on Kashmir within the Indian Constitution.
They said solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in granting right to self-determination to Kashmiris in accordance with the UN resolutions.
APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement in Srinagar said that India must shun state violence for solution of the dispute and uphold international laws, respect and adhere to UN resolutions on the held territory.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that if a lasting and permanent solution to the Kashmir problem could be found within the Indian Constitution, then it would have happened by now as Kashmir is being ruled by that very constitution for the last 70 years.
