Modi’s Srinagar rally was a show of military might: Gilani
Nov 9th, 2015 | Category: Kashmir NewsSrinagar, November 09 : In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s rally in Srinagar was purely a military exercise and a show of military power.
Syed Ali Gilani, who is under continued house arrest for the past several months, in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India had always tried to terrorize the people of Kashmir with the help of its huge military might so that they could not raise their voice against India’s forcible occupation of their homeland.
The veteran leader said that holding the rally in a very high security cover and converting the entire Kashmir Valley into an army garrison could be a big achievement for the puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, and the Indian Prime Minister but actually it was a big failure and defeat of Indian fanatic rulers and their paid agents in the occupied territory.
He said that on 7th November it became clear that the pro-India politicians and their parties could not face the pro-freedom leadership on the political and democratic fronts and they would always have to seek the help of Indian occupational forces in thrusting their views. He added that Jammu and Kashmir was not an issue of development which could be solved by announcing economical packages but it was the issue of the future of 13 million Kashmiris who were demanding their right to self-determination.
Syed Ali Gilani pointed out that Narendra Modi and his forces in Kashmir had launched a crusade against the “Kashmiriyat” and Kashmiri culture. “RSS and its allied parties with the help of local agents are hell bent to eliminate the Muslim identity of Jammu and Kashmir. He also maintained that the announcement of packages for Kashmir by India was not any favour to the Kashmiri people which the PDP was projecting because in addition to the millions of tax money, the Indian government earned billions and trillions of dollars annually from the power projects and other natural resources of Kashmir and they were not paying even 2% of that amount.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Gilani welcomed the Bihar election result that saw decimation of Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party. “Bihar election verdict is welcome. Now people of India have started to reject the fascist and communal forces,” he said in an interview. He said that the Bihar poll verdict would somehow guarantee security of minorities in India. “The life of minorities in India, particularly Muslims, has become a hell. Hopefully they will feel some relief after the Bihar election results,” he stated.
At the same time, the veteran leader said that in the case of Kashmir issue, all Indian political parties were one.
