Srinagar, June 12 : In occupied Kashmir, the Indian police arrested APHC leaders Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Zafar Akbar Butt, Yasmeen Raja, Muhammad Yousuf Naqqash and others to prevent them from proceeding towards the UN Observers office in Srinagar, today.
The APHC leaders were intercepted by the police at Pratap Park when they were peacefully marching towards the UN Observers office in Srinagar.
The Hurriyet leaders were supposed to submit a memorandum to ask the UN to conduct investigation into the killing of hundreds of youth including students by Indian troops and police personnel during the 2008 and 2010 uprising and disappearances of thousands of the Kashmiris during custody.
The police arrested the Hurriyet leaders and lodged them at Kothi Bagh Police Station in Srinagar.
