Srinagar, June 11 : In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq apprised the foreign delegations of the Indian atrocities in the territory.
The Secretary General of Pugwash International, Paolo Cotta-Ramusino, Minister of Political Affairs, Embassy of Japan in India, Takeshi Osuga and Second Secretary, Ryotaro Fujita called on Mirwaiz Umar Farooq separately along with their delegations in Srinagar on Monday.
The APHC Chairman informed the delegates that the people of Kashmir had been struggling for securing their right to self-determination for last several decades. He added that the Indian government and the international community had also guaranteed them the right but despite the passage of several decades the Indian government yet to fulfil its commitment.
He further told the delegations that the Indian troops and police personnel killed over 120 innocent Kashmiri youth during the 2010 peaceful uprising in occupied Kashmir but not a single FIR had, so far, been registered against the involved persons.
Mirwaiz urged India to realise the ground reality in the territory and come forward to settle the Kashmir dispute so that durable peace could be established in the South Asian region.
