Srinagar, June 17 : In occupied Kashmir, a Srinagar court has acquitted the illegally detained Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt in a false case registered against him in Karan Nagar police station in Srinagar.
The lawyers including Mir Shafqat Hussain, Mir Urfi, Wajid Hassan and Waheed Ahmad represented Masarrat Aalam Butt during the trial of the case. After hectic trial, the court of 1st additional district and session’s judge acquitted Masarrat Aalam from the charges levelled against him.
Pertinently, on June 2, the High Court of the occupied territory had quashed the detention of Masarrat Aalam directing the puppet administration to release him forthwith. But despite that order, the authorities didn’t release him.
