Baramulla conference applauded the role of bringing unity among Shia Sunni

Continuing its efforts to bring about proximity between Shia and Sunni, a seminar Revelation of Qur’an Conference was today organized at Jamia Masjid Kreeri Pattan in Baramulla in which scholars and intellectuals from various Islamic schools of thought participated.

The scholars, during the conference, shed light on the various aspects of the teachings of Holy Qur’an. The Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Basheer ud Din and member of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Thoughts and Unity, Syed Abdul Hussain Kashmiri were the chief guests in the conference.

Syed Abdul Hussain while highlighting the role of Qur’anic teachings of proximity and unity between Muslims pointed towards the globally hatched conspiracies against them to divide them on Shia Sunni lines. “Which Qur’anic verse proves that Shia is filth and we should refrain from eating from their hands,” Syed said.

He said that it is extremely condemnable that one Muslim treats other as impure and maintain grudge against his fellow Muslim. “The Qur’an gave us the title of “best ummah” and we are custodians of Islam, which we have to propagate to Non-Muslims. There will never be the like of Qur’an and Muhammad (PBUH),” he said.

According to statement, those present during the conference applauded the role of bringing unity among Shia Sunni and expressed need for organizing and propagating such programs. “Both Shia Sunni offered a joint congregational prayer, later on,” the statement added.
