In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir and the Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has expressed strong resentment over India’s refusal to allow international aid to the flood-hit people of the territory.

Shabbir Ahmed Shah visited flood-hit areas of Srinagar, Badgam, Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Baramulla and Kupwara and distributed relief among the affectees.

Addressing the people on the occasion, he said that Narendra Modi-led Indian government was resorting to political vengeance against the people of the Kashmir Valley. “If Uri can get relief in lacs for earthquake and Ladakh for cloudburst, why there are debates going on regarding the inadequate relief to be given to Valley people. The recent floods caused such a great loss to business sector of Kashmir that it can only be met with international aid,” he said.

“We are extremely thankful and proud of our brave youth who proved to be the messiahs during the floods.”

Shabbir Shah while criticizing Indian government’s unsympathetic attitude towards the flood victims including the business sector said that if Indian would not allow international aid to Kashmir, it would have to face the wrath of people. He reiterated his appeal to the people to celebrate the Eid with simplicity and austerity and to help those in need.

Meanwhile, Shabbir Ahmad Shah during his visit to Baramulla expressed sympathy with the family of noted social worker and educationist, Haji Ghulam Quadir, on his sad demise.
