Pakistan to help resolve Kashmir, hopes Salah

Greeting Mian Nawaz Sharif for his party’s victory in general elections, chief of Muttahida Jehad Council and Hizbul Mujahiddeen Syed Salahuddin hoped that after assuming power Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) would give due importance to the solution of Kashmir issue as per the aspiration of Kashmiris living on both sides of Line of Control (LoC).

Addressing a special session of Muttahida Jehad Council here on Tuesday Syed Saluhuddin regretted that in past placing of the Kashmir issue on backburner the successive governments had not only disheartened the Kashmiri people but also caused harm to the ongoing freedom struggle in occupied Kashmir. Hizbul Mujahideen chief believed that the solution of Kashmir as per the wishes of the Kashmiri people would be vital for the economic stability as well as the very solidarity of Pakistan and extension of trade and cultural relations with India at the cost of Kashmir cause would have disastrous consequences.

He hoped that Mian Nawaz Sharif would bring radical changes in its policy towards India and would give make Kashmir issue resolution pivotal towards normalisation of relations with India.

He regretted that the apologetic stance of successive governments in Pakistan on Kashmir issue had caused enormous damage to the freedom struggle, which had also dejected the whole Kashmiri nation who considered Pakistan as their second home.

Reiterating Muttahida Jehad Council’s stance to continue struggle for the right of self-determination of the people Syed Salahuddin pointed out that the atrocities of over eight lakh Indian occupation forces were on against the armless Kashmiris and asked Mian Nawaz Sharif, who is going to form government in Pakistan, to keep in mind the sentiments of Kashmiri nation before extending hand of friendship toward India.

He said that Indian occupation forces had inflicted matchless atrocities against innocent Kashmiris and over 500,000 Kashmiris had lost their lives, over hundreds and thousands of women were raped, scores of villages and townships were completed destroyed, several thousand people are still missing and all these atrocities are continuing unabated.

He hopped that any future government in Pakistan would keep in mind all these brutalities on innocent Kashmiris before taking any step for normalisation of relations with India sans Kashmir issue resolution.
