Indian Army jawan commits suicide in J&K

An Indian Army jawan allegedly committed suicide here by shooting himself with his service weapon in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources said.

Sources said the deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Sepoy Ram Kumar Tiwari.

“Sepoy Ram Kumar Tiwari shot at self with his service rifle opposite to gate no 8 of the Officers Mess in Samba district at around 10:30am,” sources said.

Army sources said that a Court of Inquiry has been ordered while concerned police have been informed in this regard for appropriate action.

Police have registered a case in this regard and started investigations.
