Heavy rains, snowfall claim three lives in IOK

In occupied Kashmir, heavy rains took the lives of two sisters in Kotranka area of Rajouri district, while 28 marooned villagers were rescued at Ramgarh sector in Samba district.The season’s first snowfall occurred in mountainous belts of Bhaderwah while rains created havoc in parts of Jammu with damage to several houses and water logging in low-lying areas.

The body of a an employee who washed away in the Devak river when a bridge collapsed due to flash flood in Udhampur last Friday, was recovered from river Tawi in Manwal area of the district.

Meanwhile, a farmer was washed away as Kashmir valley was lashed with heavy rains since last evening.
Police reports said that two sisters were washed away in flash flood in Kotranka area of Rajouri district.

Meanwhile, in Jammu city, normal life was crippled due to water logging.

Reports from Bhaderwah said that fresh snowfall was reported in Kailash mountain range, Ashapati glacier Chatergali surrounding Bhaderwah Valley, leading to drop in mercury in Bhaderwah Valley.
