Srinagar, Jan 27: Asserting that there is no alternative to right to self-determination, Syed Ali Geelani Sunday said people who are talking about other options to resolve Kashmir have turned weak before ‘state terrorism’.

In his telephonic address from New Delhi during a seminar organized by Tehreek-e-Hurriyat at Jamia Masjid Hyderpora, the Hurriyat (G) chief also criticized people “who run for jobs” in army and police.

“There are some people who are seeking a solution other than right to self-determination. They feel India is a mighty power and will not grant people of Jammu and Kashmir right to self-determination. They might have become weak but we will not bow before the state terrorism,” Geelani said in an apparent reference to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Mirwaiz has been talking about the scope to explore other options besides right to self-determination.

“I appeal youth of the valley there is no alternative to right to self determination. Hurriyat’s constitution seeks right to self determination for J&K. We should not seek any option other than right to self determination for which the Hurriyat was formed,” Geelani said.
Calling for unity among people for seeking “Azadi from India’s illegal occupation”, he said the responsibility lies on the shoulders of the youth.

“Our culture, civilization and identity were the most important things to us but unfortunately we have preferred roads and flyovers over our resources. People are running for recruitment in army and police who are involved in innumerable and serious crimes in the valley.”
Hurriyat (G) chairman also expressed concern over the condition of Muslims world over and said that they have failed in propagating the mission of beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“We have no right to call ourselves Muslims if we do not follow teachings of our Prophet. On one hand we call ourselves Muslims but on the other hand we are involved in the killing of Muslims. It is very unfortunate that people are forgetting Islam and propagating Socialism, Communism and Nationalism but still call themselves Muslims.”
