105 persons in IOK against 49 per 1,000 in India have no job

Indian Occupied Kashmir has emerged as having highest unemployment rate as compared to the neighboring northern Indian states in a latest survey released by Indian Ministry of Labour and Employment.

In the survey carried out by the Fourth Annual Employment-Unemployment Survey 2014, Kashmir has an overall unemployment rate of 105 per 1000 persons aged 15 years and above. In comparison, the rate for its immediate neighboring Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab is 75 and 58 respectively.On the other hand, at all-India level, the unemployment rate is 49, while occupied Kashmir has emerged as having eighth highest unemployment rate.

The Fourth Annual Employment-Unemployment Survey under the Indian Ministry of Labour and Employment has been conducted during the period January 2014 to July 2014 in all the 36 States including the disputed Kashmir occupied by India.
